๐ Operating Systems
or interesting brand positioning for a SaaS product
Hey everyone,
Welcome to the next issue of the SaaS Hill where SaaSy people get better at SaaS, tech trends in 5 munites or less
Let's discuss OSs ๐ฅ.
โญ๏ธ Intro
There is one interesting micro-trend in the SaaS space I noticed a few months ago. Some SaaS Companies use the keyword "OS" for their market positioning. For example, Intercom. Then I saw a few more companies that use this word on their websites and company descriptions.
And it turned out that there is a whole world of different OSs :)
Here is what we will discuss today:
๐ 3 predictions about OSs๐ 13 SaaS products that use OS for their market positioning๐ 14 Services that use OS for their market positioning๐ 10 examples of the trend๐ 5 experts to follow๐ 3 useful links๐ How Velaris raised $4.7 (an OS for customer success)๐ How Janel Loi monetized her Newsletter OS
๐ค Predictions
More SaaS companies will use an โOSโ keyword for positioning their product in the market. See XStack (an OS for retailers)
They will use an โOSโ messaging to indicate that they are building a compound and complex startup. See ZoomInfo (and their 4 OSs)
Solopreneurs and Content Creators also use an โOSโ keyword. Typically it is used for online courses, Notion templates, lists of resources. So more and more creators will use โOSsโ as a part of their content strategy. See Justin Welshโs LinkedIn OS
